This last weekend my older brother opened some special, very good, and darn old California wine! A 1996 Peter Michael Les Pavots; a left bank Bordeaux style blend, as well as a 1997 Mount Eden Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon. If you drink wine with me you know I don’t drink a lot of west coast wine, but like my favorite european appellations… when it is good, it can be great! The Mount Eden stole the show for me, and in hindsight I’m not sure why, maybe cause I have had the Les Pavots several times before in the ’97 vintage, or maybe the festive atmosphere made the more powerful Mount Eden stand out… anywho they were both very amazing. Thanks Dave!
