Pok Pok 5.7.2011

I woke up this morning hung over from the Nemo party, and knew that fried food was on my list of things to do today! It wasn’t just any fried food I wanted, but something next level. My foodie friend Kimberly somewhat recently broke my cherry on Pok Pok’s fish sauce wings, and that is what I was hell bent on today. They are the most amazing chicken wings that they marinate in fish sauce and palm sugar, deep fry, then toss in caramelized Phu Quoc and garlic… and all this comes with a Vietnamese salad to cool you down. When you order these, dismiss all preconceived notions about your prior “wings” experiences, cause I guarantee these are a whole ‘nother world. The flavors are exotic and have depth, the wings are insanely tender and moist, and the outside is so crispy it boarders on surreal. Best thing for breakfast I have had in ages! Check it.
