Today I decided to treat myself to lunch at one of my favorite spots, Evoe. It is Pastaworks‘ eatery, they have a open kitchen, limited seating, and it is a small haven of amazing bites just off the tightly packed Hawthorne sidewalk. I admit, despite their ever changing specials of top notch local seasonal, I went there for The Gallego sandwich. The Gallego holds a spicy slaw of fennel bulb and pickled peppers on top of these tender sardine fillets, which were caught off the coast of Galicia. This sandwich is a favorite of mine, and they have a great selection of white wine that would go great with this lunch, but I always order the Elderflower spritzer. Check it!
