Thanksgiving 11.28.2011

As the dust from one of my favorite holidays settles, it is easy to reflect on the long weekend as a whirl wind. Weather you traveled many miles to gather lots of family, partied with friends, or made a yummy dinner and watched a game with your dog it is about giving thanks for the family, friends, and love in our lives. This year the dinner was hosted at my parents house for 20 people. We roasted two turkeys and had a plethora of sides. I chose a heritage bird this year and brined it as usual, and did my cast iron corn stuffing. There was also a butter and herb rubbed organic turkey, broccoli casserole, onion soup, sage pop overs, mashers and lots of gravy! A special thanks to my older brother Dave for opening the amazing wine, especially the 1998 Beaucastel!
